New Zealand Skilled Visas

Does your occupation appear on New Zealands Long Term Skills Shortage List?

New Zealand offers numerous opportunities to skilled migrants, particularly in industries and regions where there are skill shortages and low growth. The Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) has been designed to give priority to meeting the needs of both New Zealand and the skilled migrants intending to migrate there.

If you are not eligible for the SMC visa you may qualify for a visa under the Work to Residence scheme. The purpose of New Zealands work visa and permit policy is to contribute to the development of the countrys industry and economy by attracting skilled migrants through employer sponsorship, whether seasonal or long-term. There are 3 types of visa under the work to residence scheme and candidates for the visa will need to have arranged employment in New Zealand.
